County prosecutors will visit college campuses throughout New Jersey this fall to forge a relationship with survivors of assault through community forums, state Attorney General Gurbir Grewal announced Thursday at a campus sexual violence conference.

The forums will be an opportunity for prosecutors and law enforcement to hear directly from survivors and assure them that allegations will be prosecuted when possible, Grewal said.

“Not every allegation of assault is going to lead to a criminal prosecution and not every criminal prosecution will lead to a conviction but we all need to work together to dispel the idea that there’s no use in filing a complaint,” Grewal said at the New Jersey Conference on Campus Sexual Violence, held at the Rutgers University Continuing Education Center in Somerset.
